ELIZABETH THOMAS

Visiting Student APr-SEp 2020

I was a master’s student in Oxford’s MSc in Clinical Embryology program (2019-20) and was fortunate enough to be placed at LRF OCEHL for my master’s dissertation for which I achieved a Merit.

I am broadly interested in reproductive science and medicine, as well as ethical questions relating to the two. I aspire to practice as an ob/gyn and will begin an MD-PhD at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.

At LRF OCEHL, I examined existing literature for previously reports of how metabolic hormones impact lactation. I also helped in the Centre’s in silico analysis of hormone receptor expression in breast tissue. We weren’t able to do wet lab work due to the pandemic, but I hope my research contributed to future in vitro work at LRF OCEHL.
